Airline Transport Pilot
Description
This course is an FAA approved part 141 course available to commercial rated pilots holding an instrument rating.
In some cases, previous knowledge and experience can be credited toward the course curriculum requirements per 14 CFR 141.77 (c).
Training under 14 CFR part 61 can be provided. Custom training programs are available based on individual’s previous knowledge and flight experience.
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must read, speak, write, and understand English
Be of good moral character
Hold at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate
Hold an instrument rating
1200 hours total time as a pilot
500 hours of cross-country time
100 hours of night flight time, of which 15 hours are in helicopters
200 hours of flight time in helicopters, including at least 75 hours as PIC
75 hours of instrument flight time in actual or simulated instrument conditions 50 hours of which are obtained in flight and at least 25 hours in a helicopter as PIC
BasicMed or FAA 3rd Class Medical
1st Class medical required to exercise ATP privileges
Course Details
25 hours minimum flight training
40 hours minimum of ground training
9.8 hours pre and post flight evaluations
Pass FAA Knowledge Exam
Pass oral/practical test conducted by an FAA designated examiner
Privileges
May receive compensation
May take passengers for hire
May exercise instrument privileges in a helicopter
May provide limited instruction in accordance with 14 CFR part 61.167
