Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI)
Description
This course is an FAA approved part 141 course available to commercially rated pilots.
In some cases, previous knowledge and experience can be credited toward the course curriculum requirements per 14 CFR 141.77 (c).
Training under 14 CFR part 61 can be provided. Custom training programs are available based on individual’s previous knowledge and flight experience.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must read, speak, write and understand English
Hold at least a Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
BasicMed or FAA 3rd Class Medical
Course Details
25 hours minimum flight training
40 hours minimum of ground training
9.8 hours pre and post flight evaluations
Pass the Fundamentals of Instruction Knowledge Exam
Pass the CFI Knowledge Exam
Pass oral/practical test conducted by an FAA designated examiner
Privileges
May receive compensation
May provide instruction (CFII required for instrument instruction)
